SCENES FROM THE FACTORY

Now we’re opening the gates – and letting employees do the talking!

How do you attract new employees to a 120-year-old factory in Norrland, and what does the term “Domsjö spirit” actually mean? These were some of the questions Domsjö Fabriker asked its employees in connection with the initiative “Scenes from the factory” – to increase pride among employees and make Domsjö Fabriker visible as a potential workplace. In evocative industrial realistic images, we meet the factory’s employees in the roles as themselves – photographed in real unadorned working environments where they uncensored tell about life in the workplace. – We believe that honesty lasts the longest, and with this project, I think we perfectly capture the professional pride and fantastic community we have here,” says Catarina Wahlert, who works as HR Manager at Domsjö Fabriker. She explains that the decision to highlight life at the factory exactly as it is, looks, sounds and feels, can help create a deeper understanding of what it is like to work here – and increase the interest of new talents to apply here. –

“Scenes from the factory” is a completely unfiltered initiative, where we show our everyday working life just as it is. At the same time, it will be proof that traditional industry in Northern Sweden is alive and well, and delivers sustainable products – for real.

CEO Björn Vedin fully agrees that the photos taken from inside the sometimes rather raw factory environment – together with candid, uncensored quotes from employees – are likely to stand out in times when new expansive companies are emerging in the north. At the same time, he wants to highlight the company’s expertise in cellulose, lignin and bioethanol production, where Domsjö Fabriker is at the forefront internationally.

Although the factory is old and worn on the outside, our advanced manufacturing processes and the products we supply are of the highest quality. Our products are now in demand from a wide range of companies all over the world, partly because of the unique sustainability aspect.

HR Manager Catarina Wahlert expresses both curiosity and anticipation for the upcoming launch: –

It will be very exciting to see how “Scenes from the Factory” is received – both by our employees and by the public. Almost everyone who lives here in the Örnsköldsvikt area has a relationship with the factory in some way, and now we are opening the gates for the first time and letting them in.
